Can you learn AI without tech background?
is coding or a tech background required to learn AI

AI FOR YOU
A couple of days ago, I posted on Linkedin.
Giving an overview of How I learned AI.
Some people asked me, how I did it.
Without having a coding background.

Well,
Here’s a fact: The question isn’t ‘can you’ or ‘should you’ learn AI.
“you must learn AI” regardless of your background is tech or not.
The question remains ‘how’?
I explained in the post, how I approached learning AI, what at first seemed out of my reach. (if you’re curious to read here’s the link).
But let me give you a roadmap here:
1). Mindset:
Let’s have the same mindset about this new technology
AI isn’t for just techies, It is for you
Infact, AI aims to reduce coding barrier for non-tech people so they can build their dream apps, or software without writing any code.
AI will not replace you at work, but you not knowing how to use AI will replace you with someone who knows AI.
As it is rightly said by the Co-Director of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence:
“Artificial intelligence is not a substitute for human intelligence; it is a tool to amplify human creativity and ingenuity.” – Fei-Fei Li
2). Approach:
Let me tell you how to go about it.
I’m giving you a path to learn it on your own so you don’t feel lost or left behind in this revolution.
It is from a perspective of a beginner… you can skip to start reading from the point it makes sense to you.
Step 1: Learn basic terms and tools of AI
Search for the definitions of these terms: “GPT”, “Prompt”, “Prompt Engineering”, “Generative AI”
Do a free course “AI for Everyone” by coursera.
Step 2: Try all the popular AI models for a week by yourself
ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Claude AI, Bing Copilot
Ask them to write an email to your client or your manager on subject of your need. Give it as many details as you can so it will write better.
It will give you a basic idea of strengths and weaknesses of each AI model
Step 3: Learning to Write Prompts
No fancy stuff here, just write youtube "Prompt engineering for beginners”.
Watch only a couple of tutorials, take notes and you are good.
Practice! Practice! Practice! No one can make you better except you yourself
Step 4: Writing prompts made easy
Install AIPRM & MaxAI Me, chrome extensions
They’ll automatically be added to ChatGPT
MaxAI me also supports Gemini & Claude AI
You’ll get tons of useful prompts to use & get an Idea of how AI can help you.
Step 5: Trust me, you’re already an expert by now
See free courses from Google, Nvidia, Microsoft on AI
The courses will be on many different topics related to AI
Do some of them on the topics that fascinates you
Step 6: Build your own AI solutions (optional, not highly recommended but you can give it a try)
Learn about no code tools like Bubble.io, Make.com, Zapier, from YouTube.
Learn to build custom GPTs from YouTube (it is no code, so don’t worry)
Find a problem in your life
Be innovative on how can you solve it with a software
Build your custom software
Even you can find others having same problems and sell your software to them
Hey, I don’t want to be an another expert or guru to overwhelm you, just do follow these 5-6 steps and you’ll get your own way to go forward.
AI Fun Fact
Did you know that AI can now be creative and produce works of art? It’s true! AI has been used to create pieces that rival those made by well-known artists. It can also write stories, compose music, and even paint pictures. For instance, the portrait of Edmond de Belamy, which was sold at auction, and the visually striking images from Google’s Deep Dream generator were both created with the help of AI1. The capabilities of AI are not just limited to logical tasks but extend to the realm of creativity and imagination as well! 🎨🤖
It’s a wrap!
